They made “collections” under the name of “Community”: Armed crime organization on the chief prosecutor’s radar

The allegation that an armed criminal organization in Istanbul was forcibly collecting taxes by beating and detaining people has spurred the prosecutor's office into action.
OPERATION AGAINST ARMED CRIMINAL ORGANIZATION
Within the scope of the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, Terrorism and Organization Crimes Investigation Bureau, an operation was carried out against the criminal organization, which is alleged to be acting under the leadership of suspect Şahin Kılıççeken, in Sancaktepe, Sultanbeyli and surrounding districts. Within this scope, 17 suspects, including the leader of the organization, who were detained, were brought to the courthouse after security procedures.
"COLLECTION" IN THE NAME OF "COMMUNITY"
The prosecutor's office referred the suspects to the Istanbul Anatolian Criminal Court of Peace with a request for their arrest. In the referral letter, it was stated that the leader, managers and members of the armed criminal organization led by Şahin Kılıççeken knew each other because some of them were relatives and some of them were friends, and that "it has been understood that the suspects set up meeting tables under the name of 'community' in order to carry out the collection transactions of the armed criminal organization, that they put the victimized individuals under pressure by imposing the necessary punishment in line with these meetings, and that they achieved their goals by resorting to methods of assault and force."
15 SUSPECTS ARRESTED
Following their interrogations, the judge ruled that 15 of the suspects be arrested on charges of "plunder" and "deprivation of liberty."
